Grammar and Punctuation to Stretch and Challenge

I created this brilliant 15 page work pack containing six exercises of general punctuation, nouns, pronouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives for my GCSE English language revision class. I found that getting close to GCSE’s my students sometimes forgot basic punctuation. The work pack is easy to use and has a definition with examples and then exercises to be completed. (Answers are included) I have found that I can use them for stretching students further in Year 8 and Year 9. I have added in the answers so that they can bee peered marked or used for homework. I also found that it encourages students to find the meaning and definitions.

GCSE Paper 1

This is a resource I created to help my borderline grade 3/4 students, it is a ‘walkthrough’. I have based the Power Point on Paper 1, November 2018. I generally use this Power Point over 2 or 3 separate lessons. I have found that borderline students often struggle with putting together a good answer, they often do not know key words to use or how to structure it. I use PEEZE and PEE which I think is standard. I also find that these students need short chunking activities to keep them interested. I have created a separate worksheet that breaks each question down to help the students create an answer. In this pack I have included: Power -Point Worksheet with the extract and the full exam questions Dinosaur Worksheet

These resources were created for ages 8-11, but can also be used for lower ability groups ages 11 + where often more creative activities work to keep them interested and focused Activities include: Word Search, Crossword, Colouring, drawing. Work sheets: Facts on Shakespeare Facts on Macbeth Article Wanted Poster Comic Strip I have used these activities in many ways depending on the children I am teaching and ability. I have used them in ‘stretch and challenge’, and used them to create a homework booklet. I hope you find them as useful as I have.
