Part One of a full scheme of work on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. With 13 powerpoints, resources, worksheets, reading and writing assessments. Delivered to my KS3 SEN students my lessons are planned to engage all types of learners. Work is suitable for KS2. Work is differentiated with higher and lower level options as well as extension activities. Teacher notes are on all powerpoint slides.
All lessons come with a learning objective, success criteria of core, stretch and challenge. Every lesson has a starter and plenary activity. Most powerpoint will stretch to a couple of lessons. The term has a variety of activities, including newspaper writing, formal and informal letter writing, discussion activities, paired activity, many comprehension activities and lots of reading. This reading may be done in class, as planned within the lesson, or set for homework if short of time.
This scheme of work (including PART TWO) contains work on:
• History of Roald Dahl
• Similes and metaphors
• Nouns, verbs and adjectives
• Use of quotations
• Use of a dictionary and thesaurus
• Descriptive writing
• Shape poetry
• Formal and informal letter writing
• Peer and self-assessment
Students reading levels can be assessed through formative assessment throughout the term. There are reading assessment grid with this scheme of work.
Part Two I have had to sell separately as I had too many resources to load in one lot. Part Two can be found in my shop and contains an additional 9 lessons and written assessment for the end of the scheme.
