Year 1/Kindergarten -Mood in Muisc
A listening lesson for 3-5 year olds exploring how music can make us feel different ways.
Resources needed:
Spotify premium (There are alternative musical extracts avaiable in the PPT notes if Spoitify premium is not accessible)
Year 8/7th Grade Music Notation
A unit of work, covering a full half term. Lesson content includes music theory and notation, allowing students to identify staff notation, time and key signatures and an introduction to the circle of fifths.
Resources required:
Xylophones or keyboards
Manurscript paper
Internet connection

Year 7/6th Grade Exploring Music Bundle
Two 6 week units of work covering Descriptive music and Elements of Music/Graphic Score.
Each unit consists of 6 lessons providing 12 lessons overall.
Descriptive music is a full complete unit including worksheets powerpoint, assessment etc.
Elements of music consists of the unit plan and powerpoint only.
Year 8/7th Grade Waltz Music
A full 6 week unit of work covering Waltz music for Year 8/7th Grade.
Lessons include history, composers, notation etc and children have the opportunity to compose a short waltz style piece of music.

Music composition software (Musescore, Garageband, Ableton etc)

Yr 1/Kindergarten Rhythms
A complete lesson to introduce rhythms to 5-6 year olds
Lesson includes powerpoint, plan and resources
Year 10/9th Grade Minimalism
A powerpoint of 5 or 6 45min lessons covering the key features of minimalism, its history, chances to analyse key minimalist pieces and compose in a minimalist style using music technology.

Music composition software (Musescore, Garageband or similar)

Year 7/6th Grade Musical Elelements
A unit of work for a full half term, focusing on the elements of music and graphic scores. Involves children playing and composing their own graphic scores in relation to the elements of music.

Year 7/6th Grade Descriptive Music
A complete unit of work covering a 6 week half term focusing on descriptive music. The unit looks at the carnival of the animals and peter and the wolf and promotes listening and analysis as well as composition and performance.
