Spelling tch or ch
This resource contains 14 different activities to teach how to identify whether a word needs a ‘tch’ or a ‘ch’ at the end of it. It is suitable for whole class use, small SEN groups and home schooling by a parent or tutor. The learning begins with a word sort and pupils are encouraged to find patterns and rules themselves. There is then fun practice of identifying whether ‘tch’ or 'ch’ is needed. The next stage is for the pupil to write whole words and again there is varied and fun practice of this. Next pupils will write words in the context of dictated sentences. Finally they will write their own sentences or short story by using words in this unit that have been shown as pictures.
dge and ge spelling
This resource contains 15 different activities that provide structure and progression for learners of all abilities to practise spelling ‘dge’ and ‘ge’. The activities range from reading single words, and sentences, to games such as dominoes, heads and tails and Connect 4. There are activities that require the pupil to write single words, those that require sentences and an activity that requires the pupil to use the spelling patterns in their own free writing. The starting activity is a word sort to encourage the pupils to look for spelling patterns and rules for themselves. This product is suitable to use within the classroom, with a small SEN group or with home learning pupils either with a parent or tutor. Halloween Phonics I Spy
There are 12 worksheets each covering a different spelling pattern.
cvc, ccvc cvcc ccvcc, ng, ck, ff ll ss zz, ai, oa, ee, oo, ea saying long e, ea saying short e, -le. Pupils read the words containing the spelling pattern. They then find the corresponding picture and write the word. They can also colour the pictures. The images relate to a Halloween theme. They are cute rather than scary.
Halloween Reading and Spelling cvc, ccvc, sh and ch words
This product gives children practice in writing and reading cvc, ccvc words and a couple of words containing ch and sh. This allows for differentiation. There are two Halloween game boards and cards with 21 Halloween related words. They are all supplied in colour.
There are also two black and white worksheets for children to spell the depicted word. The first sheet contains just cvc words and the second one ccvc words and words containing sh or ch.
Spelling 'cial', 'tial' and 'sial' - Spy themed
This pack contains fun games and ideas that can be used when teaching how to spell words ending in ‘cial’ and ‘tial’. It has been devised around a spy, CIA theme. The concept is about knowing the rules of the land (in this case ‘cial’ and ‘tial’ rules of use) and then spying on and rounding up the rule breakers (controversial, palatial, partial, financial, initial).
The initial activity is a sorting activity and identification of spelling rules and words that are rule breakers.
The second activity practices applying the rules.
There is also a 4 in a row spying game.
Finally, there is a spelling test and spy ranks are awarded depending on the score achieved on the test.

This product consists of pirate problems that involve the students in finding fractions of number. Some problems are story problems which consist of finding the fractional part of the whole. Other activities give the fractional part and the children have to use this to find the whole. The problems are graded with some consisting of unit fractions and others involving calculating with non-unit fractions. The problems in this product are one step problems.
