This presentation and worksheet will give a broad overview of Philosophy. It discusses where and when Philosophy began, although it mostly focuses on what exactly is philosophy. There are questions throughout the presentation that can be used for normal lower order questioning during class, or as a written activity. The presentation contains lots of interesting pictures and bright colours to engage the students. It is suitable for KS3 and KS4. It can be used in both a denominational and non-denominational classroom. The worksheet is differentiated and the pupils can either complete it during the presentation or afterwards.

This resource is an introduction to Sikhism with a focus on the Sikh understanding of God, Waheguru. This is suitable for one full lesson period. There is a presentation which includes learning objectives, a fact file on Sikhism, link to a BBC video, and an activity. The resource includes a puzzle where the students can crack the code to find the meaning of the Sikh symbol ‘khanda’. This is ideal for students to work alone or in pairs to fill in. This lesson can be used for KS3 or KS4 in either a denominational or non-denominational classroom setting.

2 Class Tests on the Renaissance - Higher and Lower Ability

This is a class test on the Renaissance. It is suitable for mixed ability History classes for KS3 and Junior Cycle. There are a higher and lower ability test. It consists of four questions. Four test questions are: key words for the Renaissance; changes in technology, changes in art; and changes in medicine and science. Each question has the total marks beside the subtitle for ease of adding up marks. The end of the test has a calculations box that either the teacher can fill in and calculate themselves, or the students can as a numeracy activity. A short student reflection activity. A teacher comments section ‘What Went Well’ and ‘Even Better If’. The test comes as a pdf and a MS Word document so it can be edited.
