Here is a homework task I have tried with my Year 10 to help them with their listening, spelling and sentences structure. I sent them the listening file by email and asked them for homework to transcribe what they could hear (10 sentences). When they came to class the following week, we corrected it together and I gave them a copy of the sentences for them to translate and then adapt to make their own. A worksheet with some questions on Madagascar which I did with my Year 8 after studying "La Francophonie". Students answered the questions in pairs and created a Powerpoint presentation which they then shared with the rest of the class. This would also suite a geography class or citizenship. Here is an end of year test I have designed for my Yr8 based on topics studied in Mission Français. Double sided. Match up opinions, preposition and countries, translation school, vocab food, prices in euros, recipe comprehension, translation descriptions, writing on famous people. After telling my Yr9 about chatroom language in French and showing them a few examples they wanted to know more so I designed this little activity. Gap filling exercise which I designed for my Yr10 on holidays on town. I gave each student a different strip and they then go around the class asking each other for some words they haven't got. The complete text is on the first strip for the teacher. A list of useful vocab for French GCSE students. Could be done as a HWK, test or as a class activity where students go around the class and ask each other for the answers.
