This is a trapdoor activity to get your students to practise their speaking skills. It is played in pairs. Each person chooses an option for each sentence in their head. One starts reading the text and trying to find out the other’s choices. Each time they make a choice, the partner nods or shakes his/her head. If the choice is correct the person continues until they get it wrong. When they get it wrong, the other person has a go. The aim of the game is to finish first. I did this with my Yr10 students and they enjoyed it a lot! Enjoy and don’t forget to feedback!

I worked on the food topic with my Yr 8 and designed this worksheet on pancake recipe. We look at imperative and also reading comprehension. After studying the recipe, I took them to the food tech department to make some pancakes. A nice way to end the term. Enjoy and don't forget to feedback! :-)

Trapdoor activity Lettre au Pere Noel (Noel) / Trapdoor activity Letter to Santa (Christmas)

Here is the latest trapdoor activity I have designed for Christmas. It is like a letter to Santa that French kids always write at this sort of time to ask Santa for the presents they want for Christmas. I have also slipped in a few French Christmas traditions. I will do this with my Yr7 and Yr8 in the last week before the Christmas break. Joyeux Noël à tous et bonnes fêtes de fin d’année. Enjoy and don't forget to feedback! :-)

My Yr 9 came to me the other day and started talking about "parkour" after watching the movie District B-13. I decided to do a PowerPoint to explain its origin, meaning...I have also attached a comprehension worksheet to do with it. Would suit able Y9, KS4 or A levels. Some reading, speaking (pair work), listening (movie trailer). Something a bit different! Enjoy and don't forget to feedback :-)

A presentation about “le verlan” originally used in suburbs of Paris, now spoken widely by French teenagers. Cultural interest. Would probably suit KS4 best. Enjoy and don't forget to feedback :-)

-Running dictation on ideal holidays, using conditional, simple future and complex structures. -Put photos in the order of the text. -Find the French and answer questions in English. -Write your own paragraph. I did this with Yr10 French (following my free worksheet about Le Petit Nicolas) and it worked really well. https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/les-vacances-du-petit-nicolas-extrait-feuille-de-travail-12060184
