I'm especially interested in multi-step questions - or puzzles - that encourage students to select a series of techniques to arrive at a solution. The hope is that students will develop the resilience needed to answer, for example, harder geometry questions. My particular focus is Circle Theorems, which I also use for one of my SSDD resources as the 'surface' with the 'different deep' being other shape topics such as Pythagoras, Trigonometry, and arc length & segment of a circle.

This puzzle is the twelfth in a series of consolidation exercises/angle chases on the topic of Circle Theorems. All of the Circle Theorems are present with “two radii and a chord make an isosceles triangle” and “a radius that is perpendicular to a chord divides the chord into two equal parts” in there too. However, this activity may be particularly useful for practising ‘angle at the centre…’ and ‘the angle from the same chord/arc…’. (Note: this version was amended later on the day the resource was first uploaded by removing the top chord to steer the problem solver towards ‘the angle from the same chord/arc…’ rather than simply subtracting from 180 degrees. Plus it makes angle g more interesting to find, I think.)
