Modern Drama has emerged during the nineteenth century. In English course, students need to know the elements of modern drama with the help of three plays. A doll’s house by Henrik Ibsen Dumb Writer by Harold Pinter written in 1957 Arms and the Man (satirical comedy) Play by George Bernard Shaw All these plays have modernity and symbolism. They expose the social issues present in the society in the times they were written. All these assignments are answered by students, published to help students and teachers around the world.

Henrik Ibsen is considered the father of modern drama. He exposed the social issues of Norwegian society present in his time. Major themes of his play ’ A doll’s house’ are feminism, suppression, survival and poverty. This drama is based on real-life inspiration and has become very successful around the world.
