This resource is aimed at KS4 students as an introduction to Acrylic techniques. The resource is designed so that they could work independently discovering each technique as they go. We use google classroom to make sure every student has a copy on their ipad but schools without iPAds couid provide a printed copy of the slides on each table students could share. I suggest limiting students to two colours. Every tecnique has its own slide and there is a literacy friendly starter at the beginning. If you wanted to adapt and improve you could add recordings of each technique on every slide.

It starts with a starter activity that encourages the students to look and consider San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk, 1908-1912 by Claude Monet. You could help a non specialist with this section by adding to speaker notes some observations they might discuss with students. The following task is a fill in the blanks and then finally the main task is a transcription of the same painting they have been looking at. ART Behaviour resource

ART Behaviour resource

This includes a slide pack containing nine slides and one edexel spreadsheet with drop down bars. The slide pack has a slide for each letter of the word ARTIST which stands for : Attitude Respect Think Inside Voices Stay on Task Try Hard Each slide has an explanation of the expected behaviour and an example. The spreadsheet is an optional thing that I use with younger KS3 classes to encourage good behaviour. Students are marked in each area and can gain positive points for each strand. Equally students can get warnings but directed at the specific behaviour ( Warning for : not using indoor voices). This is something that has been very helpful in gaining back the control of a class that has become quite loud and excitable.
