I have been teaching constantly for over 20 years (and boy some days I can feel it!) but I still have a huge enthusiasm for education. I trained as a primary teacher after a degree in Art from Goldsmiths, and a subsequent PGCE I worked in Inner City London. I moved in 2004 to a special school for students with SEMH (at the time BESD ). I now work with secondary pupils with Communication and interaction issues, usually from the ASD spectrum. My students also have associated disorders such as attachment disorders, sleep issues, anxiety depression, self harm, elective mutism, the list could go on! I love my daily work, bringing creativity to students who 'apparently' don't have it! NOT TRUE! I hope that any resources that I share are helpful. All are designed to be accesible to students with communication issues, and therefore do not 'jump' out of the screen. But are created with care, and always with the student first and foremost.
