A Restorative Disciplinary Strategy for guiding learners to make better choices.
These reflection sheets are designed to be used as a restorative behavioural strategy. It is a disciplinary measure that embraces five pillars in dealing with pupils and students in schools or children at home.
Relationship.
Respect.
Responsibility.
Repair.
Reintegration.
De Bono’s thinking hats are applied to the reflection loci to help guide learners through deep thinking as the reflect restoratively.
It contains guide on how to use it.
The Salt Preparation Game/Interactives Instruction
THIS GAME IS A WORD DOC MACROS ENABLED.
Level: KS3 Chemistry : Preparttion of salts from corresponding acids
Requirements
Game slide
Interactive White Board
Projector and screen
Mouse
Game card (portable size cardboard paper or response board)
Marker
Version 1
Students play this game in a group of two.
Team 1 will have a “clicker” and a "timer”. The clicker uses the mouse to select a metal and an acid from the respective drop down buttons. The “timer” starts timing the responses of the “card-writer” from the opponent group. The timing could be 5 seconds, 10 seconds or as agreed by the class.
Team 2 will be the responding team. Team 2 will have a “card writer”, who writes the team’s answer to the game card and raises it up before the game time elapses.
Team members can/should collaborate and have shared responsibilities.
Scoring:
The score recorder gives a point (or two as agreed) to asking team (in this case team 1) and a point (or two as agreed) to the responding team (in this case team 2). The asking team gets the point(s) as time they place, while the responding team gets zero for every wrong response.
