This is an essay I did earlier this year- it received 31/35 which is an A grade. It is based on the new English Language and Literature essay which includes the extract in the question. The extract is taken from Chapter 3 of Frankenstein when he is about to travel away from his home to the University of Ingolstadt.

This is an A grade response based on Carol Ann Duffy's presentation of 'Place' in the Mean Time anthology for AQA New specification English Literature and Language. This received 36/40.

These are for teachers and students to use for either teaching or revision of Paper 1 Question 5. Within the revision pack is enclosed: A revision booklet with various activities focusing on how to make sentences more sophisticated, using ambitious language and focusing on our senses when analysing pictures. Revision sheet centred on analysing pictures with questions to help students plan their ideas. It includes mini paragraphs that students can read and see what is good and what can be improved. Exemplar paragraphs for the two aspects of question 5: description and narrative . Pupils will have the ability to write what went well with the response and how they would improve it.

This revision sheet is a useful way for students to document the different language features used in the different anthology texts. It breaks these language features down into the way they are described in the specification. Including space at the top to go over the MFAPS (Mode, Form, Audience, Purpose and Subject)

This is a little guide to help students who are completing the AQA English specification with planning their essays as they begin the run up to their exams or to just give them guidance throughout their lessons. I briefly go through the different elements of the exam paper including Paris anthology, Mean Time anthology and Frankenstein.
