The final worksheet presents a mix of shapes for a review and includes a diamond shape. Each worksheet features six cards that can be cut out and laminated and used for sorting shape games or matching activities. There is a space under each shape picture for children to practice writing the shape names or the names of the objects, enhancing their literacy skills. The worksheets are also available in black and white, providing an opportunity for children to colour them in. They can also trace over the added words. To further enhance the learning experience, consider incorporating activities that encourage children to find shapes in their environment. A Christmas resource for EYFS and KS1 linked to 2D shapes. The first sheet shows an array of Xmas Shape characters that all live in a fictional Shape Land. Children will enjoy naming the shapes and colouring them in. Sheet 2 is a counting and sorting sheet. Children find e.g. all the diamond characters, colour them in and count them etc. Other shapes include stars, ovals, rectangles, squares and hearts. Sheet 3 is simple shape drawings for children to begin to experiment with making their own shape characters. This ‘Exploring 3D Shapes with Colours for KS1’ resource is an interactive, hands-on learning experience that supports learning of 3D shapes, particularly cubes,colour and pattern recognition. By engaging with a variety of activities, from building, colouring to puzzle solving, children will develop essential skills like problem-solving and spatial awareness. Sheet 1 is a planning sheet with 5 suggested ideas for using the resources. Sheets 2,3 and 4 are colour posters showing cube patterns for children to recreate. Sheet 5 is a large colour cube made up of smaller cubes - children can recreate the cube. Sheet 6 is a black and white version of the large cube. There are 3 worksheets for children to copy and recreate patterns. Finally there is a template of cubes that children can cut out and use in a variety of ways. The resource can form the basis of a lesson, make up a unit of work, or just dip in and out for 3D shape worksheets.
