All of my activities are created on an Acer Chromebook in a series of Posts on a Google Blog. I know nothing of computer coding but started with one piece of free coding and have been adapting that by incorporating additional free coding. They are created as TEMPLATES for online interactive resources. So, if you have a blog, or want to create one to try this concept out, simply copy and paste the text in the downloaded text file as a NEW POST and PUBLISH.

This is a TESTING activity. Spelling 4 Letter Words Beginning with B [1]. A simple invisible grid into which pictures have been placed and a series of letters in piles at the top which allow the spelling of the 3 letter words shown by the pictures. Simply drag and drop the letters into the invisible frames in the grid. You can of course do this with 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 letter words. If the concept works PLEASE let me know and I will add other TEMPLATES I have created. The original activity can be found at https://learnanytime-mycreations.blogspot.com/2022/03/spelling-4-letter-words-beginning-with.html The activities are meant to be fun, flexible and differentiated. They are meant to develop transferable skills and be cross curricular. As a result they hopefully reinforce small chunks of information and give a better understanding of a topic. I have sorted them into LEARNING, PRACTISING and TESTING activities and will add activities for each grouping if the concept works. Most of the activities are aimed at UK National Curriculum KS1 and KS2. learnanytime@gmail.com

This is a PRACTISING activity. Missing Vowels [animals] [1a] a spelling activity which can easily be differentiated by removing the clue at the end of each line. There is an element of “testing” as only the missing vowels are available, but this again could be altered to suit. All of the pictures and all of the text can be replaced with your own content. This is a PRACTISING activity. Sorting and Comparing [light lighter lightest] [1]. A simple activity of sorting 3 sets of 3 pictures and then comparing and sorting them into light, lighter lightest. This is a TESTING activity. I Am Not a Robot [decimals fractions percentages] [3a] [1/2]. The concept originally came from Google but taken up by Richard Osman’s House of Games. I have adapted it slightly to create levels of differentiation. In esscence it is an activity based around a “process of elimination”. In version [a] both marked and unmarked pictures are used, in version [b] these are added to with other marked pictures, in version [c] is the added dimension of numbers both decimal and percent. animal habitats [labelling pictures with red tooltips] [desert]

I wanted to create an activity in which learners “taught themselves”. I created an invisible framed grid which could overlay a picture. By making those same frames appear coloured when hovered over meant I could write the labels to particular items within the picture. I had the vehicle that allowed learners to to label their own picture. By adding the typewriter script I also had the means to direct learners to find the specific items within the picture. This became an activity which could be used for any topic of the curriculum in which labelling was important. So, if you have a blog, or want to create one to try this concept out, simply copy and paste the text in the downloaded text file as a NEW POST and PUBLISH.
