Language Paper 1 Question 5 lesson. Great for KS3 and KS4, has differentiated lesson success criteria and contains a great WAGOLL and WABOLL for descriptive writing. There’s plenty of opportunity for some teacher led modelling, or I’ve taught it a few times with whole class collaborative modelling. Really helps pupils see the difference between poor descriptive writing and what they should aiming for. Also contains some snappy bell work!
PowerPoint guiding pupils through a question 5 example with an exemplar WAGOLL and WABOLL to highlight the impact of good descriptive writing. Could simply be clicked through and pupils work on each slide or could be a really active lesson led by teacher. You might just want to change the picture in the PowerPoint to your own school.
7 lesson scheme of work for the opening of The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, numbered extract, questions and optional bell works are included along with a bonus lesson for persuasive writing and an end of unit hot seat activity for pupils.
