A 6 week scheme of work (24 lessons) teaching the content, characters and themes of ‘Blood Brothers’ by Willy Russell for Eduqas GCSE exam board. Designed for year 10 but can easily be adapted. The scheme includes a variety of PowerPoint presentations, along with all resources, worksheets and 6 weekly quotation homework sheets. There are also continuous assessments and green pen reflection lessons throughout the study. The lessons focus on understanding and enjoying the content of the text, analysing key language using the more complex paragraphs and writing in response to key parts of the text. There are also a series of revision lessons included too (4 revision lessons with resources and modelled essays/responses). I have included approaches to the exam, modelled responses, and included templates for planning. The SOW has been designed from scratch with some influence taken from other resources/images seen and used previously.
