English Creative Writing '5 senses' photo prompts - KS2/KS3/GCSE

(0)
This simple but effective resource contains a set of 10 high quality images, in a mind map powerpoint format, with the labels for the 5 senses located around the outside of the picture with a space to write and then the 10 images full screen on each slide for easy printing in a separate powerpoint presentation. The resource is designed for either printing on A3 or otherwise A4 paper, or to project onto the whiteboard for a whole-class activity. This resource can be used in countless ways and at many different levels. Whilst is is suggested that this is used in secondary with English Language GCSE and at a National Curriculum KS3 level, it can be easily adapted for use in primary schools. For example: - Split the class into small groups with three or two people per group. At the start of the lesson, give each group a sheet of paper with a picture on, and then tell students to describe the picture and begin to develop a story or descriptive piece of writing. Then, as ideas are shared, the students can begin to make a plan, and by the end of the lesson, students should each have written their own creative writing piece. - Do a collaborative class planning session! At the start of the lesson, the sheets can be spread around the classroom, and then students can each write one idea per sheet. At the end of the lesson, these can be shared as a class. - Use the sheets as a homework task, where students are told to find write, for example, a newspaper article about the place shown on the A3 sheet. - A piece of coloured card could be given to each student where they write one sentence, and this could be turned into a wall display or hanging 'washing line' classroom display.

Stakeholder Mapping Activity - Blank maps and labels

(0)
In this simple yet effective resource, 5 example businesses are given alongside a blank stakeholder map. As well as this, labels for some of the most common stakeholders are given, and students can cut these out and place them where they feel would be the most appropriate place. This file, in PPT format, can be printed out on A4 or even A3 paper and used a group activity, or can be used as a whole class activity by projecting onto a whiteboard. After this, one suggested activity is that students swap their stakeholder map with another group and decide if they agree with the positions that the stakeholders are in. This can form part of a class debate or form an evaluative activity. The can also be used as posters to form part of a wall display after completion from students.

33 cards containing a name of a generic product, and an accompanying picture. These can be used to develop the students understanding about the difference between a good and service, and are designed to fit A4 page so they can be printed and/or laminated easily. Lesson ideas include: - Printing and asking students in small groups or individually to cut out each and match these into two piles; services and goods. These can then be stuck on large sheets of sugar paper - As a starter activity where students are asked to split the class up into two depending on whether the card they are given at the start of the lesson is a good or service. - Cutting out and putting in a bag, folded, and ask students to describe the product on the card without using the explicit name. The rest of the class have to guess what the product is, and whether this is a good or service. This would be a good starter or plenary task to help build on lesson understanding. These cards are suitable for a KS3 introductory lesson, all the way through GCSE and A-level to act as a starter activity, and can be easily adapted for use in taster sessions. They are relevant to the new AS and A level business 7131/7132 specification, and can be used for teaching the new GCSE 8132. Included: 33x small printable cards, with a white background, picture and label, at a fit of 3x4 to a page, spanning 3 pages. The downloadable file after purchase is a word document in portrait view.
