This resource is a lesson that supports students to identify and understand key terminology on the AQA A-level art assessment matrix. There is also a student booklet in my shop that includes this task, along with other A-level support.

This is a great task for getting students working together to create an artist research and response board/page. I have just used this to promote Black History month, but is great for just introducing artist research tasks and working in a team. This is also good to use for flipped learning, independent study and lesson observations as every student has a job to work through to make their team successful.

This resource is used to monitor grade points to show progress. It includes support sheets for personal study, statement of intent, contextual research and annotations. It also includes contextual marking sheet, SMART target sheets and an area to record homework and a mindfulness section. It is a great resource for A-level and GCSE Art, especially to hand in during book-looks alongside sketchbooks to show a record of marking and a range of assessments and target setting. It currently has the AQA matrix but easily edited.

The language of art student booklet -support

This booklet can be used to support students to move beyond stating the obvious and add perceptive, personal insight when analysing Art work . It supports Students to demonstrate higher order thinking and the ability to analyse, evaluate and synthesize information and ideas. I have also included slides to add to your lessons to introduce this concept. I do a visual analysis task for a starter once a week within a different sketchbook- this then gets submitted alongside their coursework to strengthen AO1. There is space to do the first few within the booklets as a whole class and then a ‘what a good one looks like’ on the slide to enforce expectations. This is also a great resource to support annotations and research.
