Science Teacher and Marathon Runner! I graduated top of my class from the University of Limerick (BSc with concurrent teacher education) in 2015 and having taught in the Irish and UK system I have a in depth appreciation for curriculum. I currently teach Biology and Chemistry at A-Level and GCSE science in London. I am passionate about science and thoroughly enjoy creating resources, please feel free to review my resources.

Chemical Measurements

(0)
A complete lesson as per the specificaiton for AQA combined science and GCSE chemistry. This lesson follows on from a lesson on ‘Mass change when a gas is involved’ Builds on prior knowledge of resolution, accuracy, mean, anomalies and introduces uncertainty calculations.

Relative formula mass & Percentage mass

(1)
A complete lesson as per the specificaiton for AQA combined science and GCSE chemistry. This lesson follows on from balancing chemical equations. Introduces a definition for relative formula mass and associated calculations.
Balanced chemical equations

Balanced chemical equations

(0)
Conservation of mass and balanced chemical equations The first lesson as part of AQA quantitative chemistry for GCSE chemistry. Complete lesson with associated practice questions
Genetic Variation

Genetic Variation

(0)
Lesson that identifies examples of inherited variation opposed to environmental examples, and distinguishes between continuous and discontinuous variation.
MS Conservation of Mass Calculations

MS Conservation of Mass Calculations

(0)
Simple activity that shows conservation of mass through calculations. The use of equations with state symbols challenges students to think of situations where mass ‘appears’ to increase or decrease. This resource is complete with mark scheme and additional slides to support teaching.

Science investigation worksheets

(0)
A series of basic science investigation sheets for students to use in completing simple (KS3 biology, chemistry and physics) experiments. Includes methods, result tables, follow up questions and associated slides.
Diffusion and Osmosis Investigation

Required practical: The classic potato cores practical using ribena to emphasize concentration and the procedure of serial dilution. Student investigation sheet and follow up questions included (mark scheme and instructions outlined in the slides) Agar cube and neutralisation practical: to investigate the effect of surface area to volume ratio on the rate of diffusion. A good investigation that can be adapted to suppliment the teaching of diffusion with all key stage groups.
