We run a three term carousel of Spanish, French and German so cover 3 full topics in our year 7 curriculum.
Included in this resource are our KOs for:
Introductory carousel unit - all about me
School
Free time
Double-sided coloured worksheet (would be best if laminated). Contains:
Vocabulary for the topic
Exemplar sentences with translations (colour-coded and underlined to support a task for pupils to breakdown the sentences)
A ‘good’ paragraph
Translations Spanish to English
Translations English to Spanish
Additionally…
These were created to support long term non-specialist cover, I have included the additional resources created for this also. This includes:
a checklist for pupils to stick in books guiding them through the work
a cover teacher guide to the work
vocabulary test to test pupils on what they have learnt
a template of a class checklist for you to fill in with classes so the cover teacher can track where classes are up to in their work
Table mat resource to support pupils to practise the role play element of the speaking exam, and support their independent revision when uploaded to shared areas.
Includes key vocabulary needed for the role play element, as well as key verbs in the - yo, tú and usted forms.
Borrowed the concept from someone on Twitter - apologies, I cannot remember who, if you let me know then I can credit you.
I have created a knowledge and revision organiser for Module 1 of the Edexcel GCSE book.
This includes an editable document with reading, writing and translation tasks for pupils to practise, as well as a variety of vocabulary phrases rather than lists of vocabulary.

Powerpoint and PDF resources for an introductory unit to Spanish. In my school we run a carousel that runs for three terms where pupils experience the three languages we teach (Spanish, French and German) and this is what we cover.
Within this unit we cover:
Introducing yourself with names.
Ages
Birthday
Numbers 1-31
Months
Colours
Opinions
We follow the MYP so there are elements of our planning which will not be relevant to you (Learner Profile Traits and ATLs), and this is reflected in the cost.
I have collated exam board role play sample assessment materials in the style of Edexcel to support my students in their independent preparation.
The only exam board missing is Edexcel, as these are the SAMs we are using for PPE speakings.
These are printed to then be cut as two A5 laminated sheets kept together with short treasury tags for easy organisation.
Pupils can use these as examples to help them to practise how to prepare for their speaking exams.
There are 26 Foundation tasks, and 18 Higher tier tasks.
Borrowed the concept from someone on Twitter - apologies, I cannot remember who, if you let me know then I can credit you.
I have created a knowledge and revision organiser for Module 2 of the Edexcel GCSE book.
This includes an editable document with reading, writing and translation tasks for pupils to practise, as well as a variety of vocabulary phrases rather than lists of vocabulary.
Created using the descriptors for a step 7 provided by Edexcel. Vocabulary and grammar concepts to be learnt and used by pupils to support them to achieve a grade 4.
The document is provided in PDF (where the format is as planned due to fonts) and PPT (so you can edit) and the document is double sided.
PDF versions of:
Time KO - a simple sheet outlining telling the time in Spanish using ‘es la…’ and ‘son las…’.
Time KO + worksheet - simple tasks where pupils need to use the clocks to work out the translations.
A numbers KO.
Collated support and examiner reports from Edexcel to make them accessible for pupils. Gives pupils the opportunity to analyse the mark scheme and what is expected of them.
A collation of photo tasks from AQA SAMs and 2018 exam put into PPT to use as starters.
All slides are differentiated to support mixed groups; some slides have additional questions for early finishers, and all slides have a higher tier element to support mixed groups with foundation/higher together.
Simplified role plays for KS3 to use - all based around the theme of ‘Asking someone out’ in Spanish.
The ‘Examiner’ style card has example answers for pupils to use to help correct their partner.
A translation challenge worksheet to support revision.
This includes 5 sets of translations varying from full paragraphs in the style of higher tier to short sentences like the foundation exam.
As well as the translations themselves, there is also additional support in the form of individual word and verb translations.
A double sided table mat to support pupils in using two time frames in their work.
I have included the PDF version as well as the original PPT so you can adapt with your own words if you wish. Each side has example phrases, key verbs, opinion phrases, as well as verb grids.
A set of PPTs created following the Viva Edexcel Scheme of work. Some pictures have been removed as they refer to specific elements of the Viva textbook. You will need a Viva subscription/audio access to complete the listening tasks.
Additionally some slides/PPTs have been removed due to their direct reference to the textbook.
