This is a 1 hour 'round the clock' activity to be used in conjunction with Ben Walsh OCR GCSE history text book. Worked so well with my Y11's last year to get them ready for their exam. A simple knowledge organiser for students to use as part of the A Level Edexcel & OCR units on witchcraft and popular culture in Early Modern Europe. I like to print and laminate this resources and give my students a pop quiz on it every week! Great for improving the contextual knowledge of your A Level students on this thematic topic!

A fully resources and interactive lesson introducing the challengers to the throne after the death of Edward the Confessor. The students will learn about all three challengers, why they felt they had a claim to the throne and make a judgement on who they think should be the next king and why. An excellent introduction to the Norman Conquest/Battle of Hastings. The lesson includes lots of separate challenge activities, as well as differentiation and a variety of activities to cater to different learning styles. All activities/ info and worksheets included - no text book necessary! Aimed at Y7 but could easily be used to teach Y8 too.

This is a lesson I have made for the new AQA 2M option 'Wars and Welfare: Britain in Transition 1906-1957'. I teach this unit using the Oxford AQA History book by Thomas and Willis so there are a couple of references to this book in one or two of the activities. There are a range of audio, kinaesthetic and visual activities here - catered towards AS Y12 students. There are some discussion topics too - a good intro to the issues of poverty in Britain at the time and why the Liberals wanted welfare reforms. A presentation is included here as well as a fair few resources I have made.

This is an A-Level History lesson designed to introduce students to Thatcher, her character & ideologies, her support & opposition. This lesson was written to be used alongside the AQA Component 2 text book & there are some slides that refer to page numbers - but these can easily be altered to suit whichever text book you are using. There is a PowerPoint which includes differentiated learning objectives and a range of tasks with resources included.

This was designed as a Year 8 Religious Studies lesson on Jesus and suffering. The pack includes a presentation with differentiated Learning Objectives, a starter, a mini, a main activity - complete with success criteria for the main, and a plenary. The pack includes a think card source activity as well as a worksheet. Used for an interview and graded as 1. Timings are on each slide for ease of use!

Fun for all the family! This lesson is designed to suit Y7/8 Historians but could easily be adapted to suit Y9 too. This little package includes a presentation including information, video clip, starts, 3 main activities and a plenary, some class discussion topics, some 'thinking hat' activities and much more! I've included the worksheets and sources needed to run the lesson - as well as separate learning objectives so that students can stick them into their books and check them off at the designated 'learning checkpoints'. This is a lesson and resources to support the teaching of Edexcel's GCSE 9-1 unit: Early Elizabethan England, 1558-1588. This specific lesson introduces the students to Unit 2.1 - Plots & Revolts at home. It includes activities that will give students an understanding of the Revolt of the Northern Earls, Ridolfi, Throckmorton & the Babington plots. There is reference to some in-class reading on the presentation - I use the Pearson book, but you could use your own version that your school stocks and simply change the page numbers referenced. Includes a starter card sort activity as well as three main activities and a review! Hi All! This is my 'Lesson 1' Introduction to OCR's British Depth Study 1890-1918. The lesson covers the general situation in Britain in the late 19th century, as well as the three main reformers, Booth, Rowntree and Galt. There's a presentation and activities include a source inference starter, an information hunt, source analysis activities, an 'each one teach one' and even a 'create your own knowledge cube' complete with accompanying fact files and cube templates that have the questions and photographs already installed! And breathe! So much in one lesson - how could you resist?! There's also a worksheet to accompany the each one teach one. I use the OCR recommended Ben Walsh book so any page numbers refer to that text book as well as the first source activity! Enjoy!

This is around 100 minutes of GCSE History lesson aimed at Y10/11 students. The lesson aims to teach students the importance of the Rhineland and how/why Hitler remilitarised it! The lesson includes a comprehensive powerpoint/embedded podcast/source analysis/working with actual mark schemes/exam questions/peer assessment/Tarsia puzzles/reading comprehension/factfiles ect ect! The lesson does, in one part, refer to some reading (a small amount) in a text book. I use Ben Walsh as it's fantastic but you could easily supplement your own recommended reading here (it's just a little info on how/why the Rhineland was remilitarised). A very simple checklist I have produced for the 'old-spec' OCR British Depth Study 1890-1918. Simply a list of all of the areas students need to revise for Paper 2, complete with page numbers from the Walsh book to save them asking where to find the info from! Hopefully might be useful to someone!

An introduction to the Treaty of Versailles. Perfect for students learning about the inter-war years. Can be used in conjunction with the Ben Walsh OCR GCSE History book but can be used stand-alone also. This lesson is aimed at Y9/10 students and covers some initial information on how the allied forces & Germany would be feeling post WW1 as well as some initial sources analysis work to get them started! Just a simple template for a display I use for my Y11 students studying International Relations. The posters point out key information about a source and give some WAGOLL's for a 'what is the message/purpose' style question. Document is unlocked so that users can easily change the sources/WAGOLL to their liking.

A comprehensive Year 7 lesson on King Henry VII. This is a start to my Tudor Monarch's lessons. Students are provided with Henry's problems when he became king and his solutions to those problems! Includes a nice information hunt activity - plenty of opportunities for challenge. I have also included KPIs and learning objectives as well as specific success criteria for tasks. This is a resource designed for Y9 but could also stretch to Y10 on The British Empire. The lesson introduces students to what The British Empire was. It introduces them to key words in fun dictionary race competition, and allows them to analyse several sources from the National Archives so that they can begin to create a picture of the motivations behind expanding the British Empire. Each activity also includes a challenge activity to stretch and challenge the learning of your students!

A simple knowledge organiser that includes important dates and key terms for the early years of the Weimar Republic 1918-1924. I use this to support my teaching of A Level OCR History Unit Y221 'Democracy & Dictatorship in Germany', but this could be used to support any A Level history groups studying the same period. I laminate mine for the students and we use them every week for a pop quiz! Excellent tool for improving the contextual knowledge of your students!
