A fully resourced mini project covering the novel, play, and film of 'The Woman in Black'. Includes a detailed PowerPoint and accompanying student work booklet, with additional display materials. Students have always found this very engaging. Designed to be used alongside copies of the book and the film.

I designed this fully resourced lesson to help improve extended written responses to the two Literature papers. It includes a PPT with top tips, a check list, and a scaffolded essay plan to help students develop an extended response (focussing on Romeo and Juliet, but could be easily adapted) . Perfect for mixed ability classes.

A visual retelling of the poem using images and key lines from the poem to help students understand the content and message. Followed up with some comprehension tasks that ask students to refer to a quote when answering. They are then prompted to make comparisons to Ozymandias.

Made these starters for my Year 11 to start recalling previous knowledge from An Inspector Calls and the Power and Conflict poetry cluster. There's 6 in total, easy template to use to create your own.

A booklet of character profile pages for all of the characters from An Inspector Calls using images from the recent BBC adaptation which students (in my experience) really enjoy and appreciate seeing them linked in resources. Can be used as a revision activity for students to complete, or as originally, used to record first impressions from Act One. Prints lovely as a booklet.

A series of 6 fully resourced lessons exploring the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Uses images from the Patrick Stewart version and links to YouTube clips. Lots of guidance and scaffolding/sentence starters to help students analyse and explore the difference in language used between the two characters. Extracts provided on worksheets with original Shakespeare next to a modern translation to help students access the language. Some more challenging activities too, including reading an extract from a literary article. Students have always enjoyed and engaged well with this sequence of lessons at both KS3 and KS4.

A lesson focussing on an extract from Stave Two, whilst introducing students to metacognition (thinking about thinking) includes a student review to see which strategies they liked best and to evaluate whether or not it improved their written responses. I did this lesson with Year 10 and the reviews were extremely positive.
