BIG Plant Kingdom Bundle

This Plant Kingdom has two plant kingdom power points. One goes over the anatomy and traits of plants, then covers each plant clade (group) individually and their characteristics,. The plant clades or sequenced in evolutionary order and there is a chart included for the students to fill out while covering the power point. The plant clades are mosses, ferns, gymnosperms: conifers, gingkos, cycads, and angiosperms. The second power point goes over special topics in plants such as tropisms and adaptations. There is a third power point called Plant questions, you can do these as a whole class or upload them to a website so students can work on the questions individually or in pairs. There is one plant question per slide and they all have photographs or diagrams to help the students answer correctly. The last file is a set of writing task cards which covers all the plant information. I also have these items listed separately but you save purchasing as a bundle. Printing in grayscale will ensure maximum detail if you are not printing in color.

Dichotomous Key: Carnivorous, Poisonous and Curious Botanicals Ppt or Task Cards

(0)
Great Dichotomous Key on Botanicals. There are Carnivorous, Poisonous and just curious plants in this collection which spans the world. This activity can be used in its power point format to upload to a classroom website and have the students use laptops or iPads to go through the pictures. You could use the power point for whole class instruction and work through the dichotomous key will all the students participating. If you do not have a class website / laptops or iPads you could print the slides out and use them as task cards set up in small groups around your class like centers. You could also print out handouts with a few slides on each page for the students to use. This activity has quite a few different ways it can be implemented into your classroom. The dichotomous key with two different answer sheet forms and key. There is a student sheet and extension suggestions. Great lesson for after state testing or when the kids get antsy before a holiday break!

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION It is important to promote writing across the disciplines. Sometimes it is difficult to come up with writing prompts. These task cards are specific to secondary science and they cover Genetic disorders and mutations. The questions cover DNA mutations, diseases, causes of mutations, and evolutionary impact of mutations. This activity can be used as a bell ringer, pop quiz or closing. It is a good exercise to make the brief students write longer and the novel writers write shorter answers. There are 32 writing prompts with instructions as to how many sentences they should write. You can adjust the pages per sheet setting to print multiple cards per sheets of paper. This activity is a great follow up to Genetic Disorders: Mistakes in the DNA code, DNA mutations Power Point and Worksheets

Lab Safety and Equipment Memory Game Classic B&W version

(0)
A new twist on lab safety and equipment review. Many times we repeat the same lab safety and equipment reviews every year. Make it fun with this Lab Safety and Equipment Memory game. The students will need to match 25 pairs of cards. One card has a description and the students need to match it with a picture or explanation. The game allows the students to continuously review lab safety and equipment while having fun and being competitive. The cards are square and saved as a pdf. By adjusting your page count per printed page you can adjust the size of your cards. I suggest laminating them and keeping them year after year. I use one set per lab table. You can have the students compete within a single table or between groups.
