Helping to practise letter formation using Nelson font. Every letter has its own page with big colourful letters that can be written over or traced with their fingers to help with formation, then each letter in dotted font in upper and lower case, and then a lower and upper case letter on handwriting lines. There is also a page at the back to learn how to write numbers. This resource has been designed to be laminated and written over in whiteboard pen and will help children practise their letter formation ready for joining.

A spelling a handwriting resource booklet aimed for use in year 1 and 2, or for older children in need of intervention.
Includes four separate sections: year 1 common exception words (as shown in the national curriculum), year 2 common exception words (as shown in the national curriculum), numbers and contractions. Contractions are written in their full and contracted form to practise SPAG.
The words are all written in Nelson dotted font to practise handwriting at the same time as spelling. This resource can be printed out as worksheets and children join the dotted words with a pencil or felt tip pen to learn spellings, or the sheets can be laminated and written on in whiteboard pen - I have done this and kept them in a handy spellings intervention ringbinder which saves lots of prep time! At the end of each section is a progress tracking grid so you can easily keep track of which words were practised today and how well they were recalled.
Each page of the wonderful book It's Okay To Be Different / Tous différents by Todd Parr. The book is so lovely and works really well in boosting confidence in young children by reminding them that they're all special because of who they are. Each page is written out in French and English and with boxes so that children can draw their own pictures for each caption. This can then be made into your own class book or made into a display if you have a French / MFL board in your classroom or corridor. I got all of my children to sign the last page too.
If you use this resource, be aware that some of the pages talk about having different mothers/fathers/being adopted/having physical disabilities, but these pages can be omitted if you feel it's best for your class.

15 different Y2 level (or Y1 stretch) questions to do with basic mental arithmetic - adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. The aim is to stick these questions up on the board and children can write their reasoning as to how they work work out the question (ie I would use my number bonds/near doubles/Dienes blocks/bead string/2x table etc) either on the sheets themselves or on post-it notes. It creates a very interactive display and helps the children get involved in their working wall!
PDF and Word version included so that you can add in your own questions or change the font/size.
32 pages of homophones activities! Everything is written in Nelson font to help with handwriting, and activities to help with homophone recognition and use. The same 35 commonly confused homophone pairs or triplets are used throughout. Perfect for KS1 children to practise handwriting and spelling.
List of commonly used homophones, written in Nelson dotted font to trace
List of homophones in context, written in Nelson dotted font to trace
List of sentences with the homophone missing and a choice of two or three words to fill in the gap
Challenge section: a short story with eight or nine gaps and a bank of homophones to choose from

A lesson starter to help recap vocabulary. Stopwatches and questions are printed and laminated and put on a French classroom board, or somewhere visible. At the start of the lesson, children sit in a circle and 'pass' the question around the circle whilst being timed - for example, a child would ask 'comment t'appelles-tu ?' to the child on their left, who would answer and then ask the child on their left, who would answer and then ask the child on their left etc until all children have asked and answered and then the timer stops, and the time is written on the stopwatch. Next time you practise, see if the children can beat their time. This helps improve confidence and is a fun way to get children speaking and revising vocabulary! In the document are some sample questions but the document is fully editable to add whatever your class needs.
Four brightly coloured toilet passes for use in primary classes. Ideally to be laminated and a length of string tied around it and to be worn around the child's neck. Features 'may I go to the toilet?' in English, French, Spanish and Welsh. Can translate into other languages if needed!
