Creative/Non Fiction writing - Dragons

(0)
This set of lessons was created for a low level year 7 group, introducing them to non-fiction and creative writing through the magic of Dragons! They really engaging well with these different activities and got very creative with the variety! Was a fantastic short scheme, which could also be an intervention, which could also be used for level key stage 3/4 across the year groups. Many thanks :)

A Level Literature Hamlet Scheme of work

This is a 12 week scheme of work I developed for Hamlet for A Level English Literature. It is a very through scheme of work that explicity reveals what to cover each week with suggested activities and assessment points. Pupils did really well with this scheme and it is very easy to follow. Many thanks :)

Mametz Wood - Owen Sheers - GCSE English Literature Conflict Poetry

(0)
Used with a low ability GCSE set, this lesson features a very brief introduction to basic poetic techniques, a discussion on Conflict, a video linked to the poem and an annotation of the poem. The follow-up lesson should be an extended analysis. Also attached is the poetry match worksheet and copy of the poem.

Hamlet key quote analysis table

(0)
This A3 double sided table is to help pupils analyse key quotes from across all 5 acts. It requires the pupils to determine which scene the action is from, find a key quote to support that action and complete a language analysis for the quote they have found = what does it reveal? Key devices/techniques and impact on the reader.

Here is a bundle of form time activities for ERIC - Everybody Reading In Class. These powerpoints/articles are for pupils to have the chance to discuss non fiction articles and practice key speaking and listening skills. More will be uploaded when created - usually fortnightly.

Spotting persuasive devices in a speech

These two worksheets go hand in hand and can be used in any year group depending on ability. Pupils needs to read the speech by Martin Luther King and decide where they can label the persuasive devices. It also required pupils to define the devices first. A great add on to any lesson or as intervention piece. Many thanks :)

A powerpoint presentation and a set of resources that I have used to deliver CPD to secondary school teachers. It is an overview of what Talk for Learning is, how it supports the new curriculum and examples of cross-curricular activities.
Lady Macbeth change in persona assessment plan

Lady Macbeth change in persona assessment plan

(0)
This PEEL table plan is an easily adaptable resource. The assessment is based on the change we read in regards to Lady Macbeth's changes in her persona throughout Macbeth. The first page is the actual PEEL table, which you can differentiate to any extent you wish. The second page is a Lady Macbeth quotation page explaining her changes and key quotes that represent these changes - this allows pupils to recognise her changes easily and also select and comment on key quotes. The AO's link to Edexcel English Literature (9-1) and, again, can easily be adapted to your course.
