This download contains 21 worksheets each focusing on the characters from ‘An Inspector Calls’ by J.B. Priestley. Each set of worksheets is designed to prompt an in depth engagement with characterisation, encouraging inference throughout. Students can work through the activities independently using the task instructions to guide them. These activities are ideal for GCSE English Literature and KS3, but can be used for any class studying the novel. These activities work really well as homework or revision, as well as regular in class activities. There are three types of worksheet included in the pack: S.T.E.A.L. Analysis - Students choose 5 adjectives that best describe each character, then analyse what their Speech, Thoughts, Effect (on other characters), Actions and Looks (appearance) Quotes - Students examine key quotes relating to each character, analysing the writer’s methods and effect on the reader. Themes - Students identify links between each character and the themes in the novel, using a hexagon organiser.
