Heroes of Civil Rights - Paul Stephenson

A free resource for the teaching of civil rights aimed at KS3 or year 9 students. Students are often taught about the achievements of civil rights activists in the USA but less often about their equivalents in the UK. Underlined terms are key terms that will need to be addressed in the lesson. I will be creating some further `Heroes of civil rights’ resources over the next few weeks so watch this space.

How to analyse sources - a toolkit

(0)
Students often struggle with source work and find it daunting, however following a few simple steps whenever they presented with a source to analyse can remove the stress from the process. In this resource I use a three step process and a simple tool to enable students to successfully analyse sources. This has worked extremely well with my students and I am sure it will help yours also. This is aimed at GCSE students and uses examples from AQA, but can easily be adapted for other boards and for younger students. I recommend using the same process for KS3 students so they become familiar with using it by the time GCSE arrives.
