Pupils from this data can then try to draw a photo fit picture of Jack the Ripper. Very fun lesson which pupils found very interesting.

It has an engaging Bell task looking at an drawing of a slave auction so the pupils can give their thoughts and ask questions of the source. The main task is helping the pupils to understand what an auction is, and then showing them images of slave auctions. There is a task linked to sources in age of expansion textbook, but as this is old it can be changed to what ever book you are currently using. Final task is creative task to create their own fliers for an auction with examples given. Extension task is A-Z of Slavery if all work is complete.
