This is an excerpt from the complete Pockets Change Financial Literacy Curriculum, which teaches students personal finance skills, entrepreneurship, stock market, and real estate basics. All lessons are also tied to common core and national standards. They are differentiated and use experiential learning techniques and help students hone 21st century learning skills.
Students will explore the different kinds of insurance available to them and, in groups, create and perform a story/play that incorporates a variety of situations where insurance would have been a good idea to have. In performing the story, a percentage of their score will go towards how well the rest of the class was able to identify the various types of insurance that would be necessary in
the situations the group presented.
This lesson includes standards, activity description, key terms, assessment, and all necessary worksheets.
