A series of lessons aimed to develop scientific investigation skills in KS3 students, would be good for year 7/8 or lower ability year 9 or for revision for higher ability year 9. Lesson scheme as follows: 1-3. intro investigation skills and compression strength of biscuits-planning, doing and analysing (3 lessons) 4.which biscuit has the most energy and/or 4.dunkability of biscuits (which biscuit can be left in the longest without breaking/ absorbing the most liquid without breaking 5. density of chocolate bars floating and sinking 6. making tea method writing 7. tea investigations-shape, stirring or temperature of water.
