1x lesson based on Derby City syllabus question ‘What do different religions believe about God?’ lesson focusing on Christianity, Hinduism and Islam.
Lesson includes plan, SMARTs and questions for independent task. Lesson is video focused showing videos about each religion that involve note taking (perfect for KS2), can be adapted for KS1.
One lesson based on the music video from David Guetta’s Titanium. Lesson focus on using the inference reading skill. Used for a 20/30 minute job interview and used across all of KS2 in shared/guided reading lessons and has been very successful.
Includes: Lesson plan with objectives, timings to stop the video with questions to ask to lead them to answer the final question using their inference skills.
PPT: Introducing what inference is, containing the video link and the main focus question to be answered.
Can be used as a stand alone guided/shared reading lesson.

Worksheet based around solving the missing number problems to crack the mystery code. Two worksheets with code sheets to enable children to crack the code.

5 week Whole Class Reading/Shared Reading unit based on The Worst Witch book. 3 lessons per week.

Lesson by lesson activities based on reading skills - between one and two written activities per week, verbal activities for other lessons.
Lessons are based on VIPERS and include the VIPERS cartoons to aid children in identifying the skills - they also explain the VIPERS to the children and explain what the skills are.
Each written sheet is created on Publisher so can be printed as is (have attached some as word docs so these can be previewed before purchasing). All extracts from the book are on the SMARTs so therefore the book does not need to be to hand for children or even photocopied!

2 week (8 lesson) SPAG/English unit based on key skills such as punctuation, word classes, sentence types. Includes written plan, lesson slides on SMART notebook (PPTS available also) and lesson resources for each lesson. Would work well to recap key SPAG skills from KS1 for Year 3 or to recap from Y3 for Year 4. All based around different Roald Dahl extracts, which are included on the SMARTs so no need to own the books! Involves SPAG and writing activities throughout and ends with a final written assessment piece.
Was originally used in September to begin the year after COVID remote learning but would come in handy to recap. Fully planned and ready to go, but also adaptable where necessary :)
Lesson plan for 3 lessons based on Black History Month.
L1: What is BHM and why is it important?
L2: I can understand why Mary Seacole is a significant figure.
L3: Influential black Britons - Lilian Bader and Fanny Eaton.
3x worksheets containing extracts from ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’.
Each worksheet contains an extract from the book with an instruction to add in the omitted inverted commas. Each extract is slightly longer than the previous and involves different levels of speech punctuation. Success criteria are provided on the final page for all children also.
Challenge sheet to practise and further reading skills. Can be stuck in the back of books or displayed on a working wall for children to access once they’ve completed their work or as one of their tasks in a Guided/Shared reading lesson or during independent/paired reading time. Made for Y5/6.
Challenge sheet to practise and further mathematical skills. Many of the activities focus on deepening their learning from the current lesson, including creating true or false questions, writing instructions based on a method or creating a quiz based on what they’ve learnt. Can be stuck in the back of books or displayed on a working wall for children to access once they’ve completed their work or as one of their tasks in a maths lesson or during independent/paired work time. Made for Y5/6.
Poster to encourage reading at home - ‘Rocket Readers’. Certificates provided for each multiple of ten reads. Editable and printable. Used previously in KS1 and Year 3/4, along with rockets with children’s names on.
Babcock ‘No Nonsense Spelling’ Block 1 & 2 unit for year 3 SMART notebook. SMART slides for each lesson of blocks 1&2 (14 lessons per block - 28 overall)
