Maths assessment Level One
Assessment for Year one maths, covers empty box questions, recognising months, more or less, shorter and longer etc., maths vocabulary, problem solving, recognising 0, counting on and back from 20 and sorting images and shapes. All author’s own work. Images from Microsoft Word package. DXP9ZZ15HP

A package of games and activities, which can be used as part of the lesson, between lessons or by TAs or parents helpers as a support activity for lower ability children. Activities mainly to do with the 4 operations.

Both mental and written activities and games to teach and consolidate four operations knowledge.
Differentiated multiplication calculations
Multiplication calculations ranging from easiest (green) which could be done as mental multiplication practice for more able children up to orange and red which would require the grid method or long multiplication. Can be displayed on the board or on a wall to avoid too much photocopying or sticking in. Answers included for self marking.
Operations display
Display showing the vocabulary for all the four operations. Useful for wall displays or shrunk down for individual children or small groups/tables
Fraction addition
Sets of differentiated fractions to add. Starts with adding like fractions, moves on to adding convertible fractions i.e. 1/2 + 1/4. Answers included for self-marking.
Animal bar chart worksheet
Worksheet to complete a bar chart about people’s favourite animals. Tally chart included. Can also be used in class. Feedback appreciated!

Pairs and dominoes games for number bonds to 10, 20 and 100. Can be used as games in group or whole class activities, or as a lesson activity for lower ability or younger children

Set of number bond cards to 20. Can be used for children to match numbers when called out in class or as a game of pairs. Useful for ks1 children learning number bonds or a ks2 or ks3 intervention group. Can be used in books as an activity or a game as a starter in a lesson.
