I started as an Early Years teacher but now teach Year 1 and love it!! I enjoy making my lessons as fun and creative as I can whilst still having clear learning objectives. I hope you and your children enjoy my resources as much as the children in my class did.

Simple lesson plan to allow children to explore and retell the story of The Princess and the Wizard by Julia Donaldson. Aimed at Year 1. Includes images for story sequencing.
This resource includes 7 days of detailed English Planning and resources which begins with the children listening to some Aboriginal Dreamtime stories before working in groups to act out one of the stories. The rest of the planning focuses on children using Talk 4 Writing to story map one of the stories before innovating it/inventing their own Dreamtime story. To give the planning purpose, the children choose how to present their stories. The majority of my class chose to make picture books/comic strips so they could read their stories to the children in Foundation Stage.
The children in my class thoroughly enjoyed listening to and writing their own Dreamtime stories. This planning was written for a mixed Year 3/4 class, but was also adapted for an able Year 2 class. I hope you enjoy it!
This was written for a Year 1 class, but could easily be adapted for Year 2. It is 3 days worth of English planning and resources. Children write facts about the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood and then compare it to the Chinese story of Lon Po Po (stories from different cultures) written by Ed Young. Resources include 3 days of differentiated planning; differentiated fairy tale facts sheets for Little Red Riding Hood and Lon Po Po (pictures are also included for BA group); and a Venn Diagram collaborative activity which should ideally be enlarged to A3, along with statements to sort. Children could go on to write their own version of Little Red Riding Hood by changing the character, setting and so on.

This planning is based on the story Dinosaurs Love Underpants by Claire Freedman. Also included are resources to support the plan - underpants template, dinosaur sentences with adjectives, writing frame, and colourful underpants with the letters of the alphabet.

This is an extremely detailed lesson plan used for a Maths observation. Our topic was The Enchanted Wood, and I like to try and link my lessons to the topic. Most resources are included or should be available in most classrooms. However, I did make the large 100 square for the floor with the children earlier in the week. They each decorated some number squares with woodland creatures, trees, flowers etc for our 'Out of the Woods' game, and then we 'tacky backed' it together. Good for number recognition/ordering. The frog game is available on Twinkl, or you could easily make some frog counters and lily pads. Resources included are the learning objectives, success criteria and plenary reflection questions. Also, word problems for the whole class and guided activity, along with true/false cards. The lesson is clearly differentiated for children still working on one more/one less to 20, one more/one less to 100, ten more/ten less, and application of this knowledge to solving word problems. Extension ideas are also included.
This lesson was planned for a Year 1 class and enjoyed by all.
This is an ideal activity for the first week back to school after the Christmas holidays. It includes a detailed lesson plan and resources. The lesson starts with that all important time for children to talk about their favourite Christmas presents. This is followed up by differentiated writing activities using templates. The activities include drawing favourite Christmas presents and labelling; drawing favourite Christmas presents and writing simple sentences to go with the pictures; and 3 differentiated thank you letter templates so children can send a special thank you for their special gift. This gives children a real purpose for writing and letters can be posted/given to friends, relatives or Santa himself!

AWESOME week of activites which particularly inspired the boys in my class.
