Sometimes children find starting a story hard, this sheet encourages children to roll a die, this then chooses the character, setting and problem. Ta da!!! I have also included some sentences openers and adjectives gathered from using the senses.

This resource includes a grid for structuring sentences using: Who? When? Where? What? and Who? What? Where? When? Plus some example sentences. The next sheet has a selection of cards to cut out and laminate. These can be used to make different silly sentences. Each card has a colour which corresponds to its place in the sentence. The sentence can then be written down if required.

Sheet 1: Includes 9 pictures of birds. Each bird has a line from head to tail, children are asked to measure this line then order the birds from shortest to longest. Sheet 2: Includes 3 pictures for birds and their wingspan in cm. Children need to go around the classroom and find objects the same as the birds wingspan. Great for practise using a ruler/metre stick. Gaining accuracy and confidence in measurement.

I love this type of Art Work and it makes a fab’ display - great for using on transfer/transition day.
