The worksheet is a series of musical checkpoints - pupils put them in the order of what's happening in the music (see added Youtube link). This is an example African composition score with 'notes&' on the score to highlight how the piece is put together. Useful for a quick plenary or even as a starter to get pupils thinking about numbers relating to Blues music but they have to work out if the next answer is higher or lower than the previous. For example, Q1. How many chords in standard Blues chord patterns? 3. Q2. Blues started in which century? (higher or lower than 3 - previous answer) etc. Any feedback would be great, thanks!

A bit of a work in progress as it still looks complicated! The aim is to create a step-by-step guide for students studying Music Theory to work out whether an interval is diminished/minor/major/augmented. Year 9 introduction to Jazz - 3 videos of Michael Buble, Jamie Cullum and Louis Armstrong Students learn 'added 6th&' chord, syncopation, walking bass, 3 different jazz rhythms and the 3 chords on the ukuleles. I planned to turn this into a group task but it&';s best to be led more by the teacher with stronger students playing 3 chords/the walking bass/improvising the melody on the glockenspiels/keyboards and the lower ability students to improvise rhythms on hand percussion/play the dotted rhythm on the hi-hat Any feedback would be great!

A mix of Indian Music activities - the instrument pictures can be used as a puzzle, cut them up and students stick back together. Students can work out instrument by descriptor and the final document is useful to differentiate between elements of each performance such as instruments/rag used. A powerpoint presentation outlining ways alcohol affects the body, why young people think they need to drink, myths/truths about the effect of alcohol on the body and some video clips of people being interviewed about the effect of alcohol. This is a fun game as part of the end of a lesson or start to look at composers with KS3. Pupils have to work out the composer/band/singer from pictures e.g. the example is a picture of a door handle; from there the pupils 'say what they see' and work out it's Handel. Others include Liszt, Chopin, Oasis, Jessie J, Britney Spears and Black Eyed Peas. Any feedback you have or other musicians I could add in would be great, thanks!
