A powerpoint which shows the rules for the classroom with an example of an activity which invites students to think about what they want to get out of the year. Used with KS3 and KS4 students to encourage them to focus on positive behaviour and attitude.

An assessment task for the beginning of Private Peaceful about Tommo’s father’s death. Can be used as a formative assessment to baseline students. Suitable for KS3 students. Includes two extension tasks which focus on writing skills, particularly using different sentence types.

A plan and a template for a formal letter. Used with KS3 students studying Private Peaceful to write a letter to the author about an incident in the book, however can be adapted to any novel or non fiction activity. Template includes sentence starters and the plan includes questions to get students thinking.

Useful template for marking whole class work. Saves time and gives certain students a boost if they are included in the polaroid moments. Very useful for literacy errors. Fully adaptable.
