AQA A Level Geography - Water and Carbon

(0)
These are the notes that I made in the 2017/18 academic year, following the NEW AQA curriculum for A-Level geography. These notes are summarised mainly from the AQA textbook. The resource contains: A main resource that contains the content covered in the water and carbon cycles module. This includes a couple of ‘mini’ case studies that are applicable to specific areas of the topic. A case study of the River Exe, a useful example of how humans have affected the water cycle. A case study of the Exmoor Mires Project, an example of peatland restoration and its benefits. A cast study of the Amazon rainforest - this is a great example to use for either the water or carbon cycle and the impacts of humans on them. A glossary of important key words that can be found in the main resource. This resource is not a comprehensive cover of the water and carbon module, however it can be used as a good starting point or support for concept consolidation. Mathematics - Expanding Brackets

Mathematics - Expanding Brackets

(0)
Here is a worksheet on expanding brackets with an accompanying set of worked solutions. Students are encouraged to mirror the shown working clearly (an example is given). Questions get harder as the worksheet progresses, ranging from UK grades 3/4 up to 7-9. This worksheet also tests general arithmetic, such as multiplying 2 digit numbers and adding 3 and 4 digit numbers. There is also an activity at the end that encourages students to write their own brackets for their partners to expand. I would advise that students are taken through more examples before attempting the harder questions in boxes 2 and 3 as there are brackets involving cubic powers and higher.
