Hi there, I am Amy and I am a Head of Performing Arts in a Secondary School so I work mainly within the Music department (and this is the subject that is my specialist) but I also teach a little bit of Drama. I like creating schemes of work that are innovative, fun and engaging for students and I hope you find some of my resources useful!

This has 7 lessons worth of material in this powerpoint with links and audio clips inserted in the slides. The Scheme of work with instructions is also included, as well as the end of unit test (created by myself) which can be used at the end of the scheme of work. You will explore a series of different types of film music within this and it is designed to be delivered in a non specialist classroom. No marks scheme for the test is provided, as the questions will need to be marked by the teacher using their judgement on many of the questions as to whether or not the students have answered the questions using valid musical reasons. I hope that you enjoy, many thanks.

This resource will teach your students interactively about Popular music from the 1950’s all the way through to modern day. It has examination questions at the end of the powerpoint and essay practice questions so that students can hopefully gain some confidence in learning about this area of their Eduqas GCSE. I hope that you find this useful and please leave a review once downloaded! Many thanks.

A 7 lesson scheme of work with a word document and powerpoint (recources and audio clips all included from youtube) with clear lesson objectives, tasks and warm ups on. You can do this either with or without chromatic boom whackers but I have mainly designed this for non chromatic. The youtube clips are not mine but they are fully inbedded into the powerpoint. I hope that you find this useful, it would be ideal for Y7-9 (KS3). Please leave a review if you download. Many thanks!

Music across the ages classroom project based scheme of work

This project includes written/classroom based tasks which are designed to take students through the ages of Music. We begin with; What makes a ‘general’ good song Music from the 1950’s Music from the 1960’s Music from the 1970’s Music from the 1990’s (Specifically focussing on Britpop) Music from today This gives the students the opportunity to think about what makes music good, as well as why they like the music that they listen to. It encourages students to think about writing about music, using terminology that will support them thinking towards GCSE Music. The scheme of work has 7 lessons (including the assessment details and criteria for students to work on at the end of the scheme). The tasks include compare and contrast activities, listening activities and a chance for students to think maturely about Music. Each lesson is an hours worth of tasks and there are extension/wider thinking activities for students. I would appreciate some feedback should you download and thank you for your custom! I hope that you find this helpful.

This scheme of work will take you 7-8 lessons worth of work which is suitable for learning in the classroom, online for virtual learning and if you are stuck in a non specialist classroom. If I was teaching this in person, I would incorporate practical tasks but in this case, there are listening examples, quizzes and tasks for students to complete individually or in pairs/small groups. I have taught this scheme of work since being in lockdown and it has worked really well with all the relevant details needed to then progress onto some past paper exam questions.

This resource is for those who are doing virtual learning and wish to do a project based scheme of work for KS3 with listening and research for the students to complete. The aim would be that the students submit their projects at the end of the 4 week project. The slides have information, resources, listening activities in them and the tasks for students are all listed too.
