Year 2 Common Exception Word Spelling Practice
Year 2 Common Exception Word Spelling Practice in the ‘Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check’ format. Can be used as practice in class or sent home for the children to practice as homework. The words have been grouped into similar spelling patterns for ease.
Both the original PDF with the italic font is included as well as the editable Microsoft Word version.

Year 2 Working At The Expected Standard Maths Activity Booklet
Year 2 Maths Activity booklet that can be used as evidence alongside the 2018-2019 Maths Teacher Assessment Framework. This particular booklet is for the ‘Working At’ statements. There are 21 pages, each with a range of activities for all 9 statements under the ‘Working At’ section of the framework. This activity booklet can be used as morning starters, during maths skills sessions or soft starts.
This activity booklet also features a simple assessment tool on the back cover. Simply tick off the standard once the pupil has shown they can independently answer the relevant questions.
We used a similar activity booklet to this last year (some examples differed due to the old framework) and our Year 2 was externally moderated. The moderators were very pleased and requested copies of the booklets too. If you know your year group is due to be moderated soon, or even if you are looking for a resource to help support your judgement, this activity booklet will help in doing so. Resilient Rockstars Poster
A Hollywood Walk of Fame star inspired poster to encourage children to become more resilient in the classroom. Simply laminate then you can write in the child/children’s name(s) into the star either daily or weekly whenever they have shown resilient behaviours. They can also write their own name in instead. This will also encourage others to adopt similar strategies when encountering difficulties in the classroom.
Individual Reward Tokens: A Positive Behaviour Management Tool

Ultimately all down to the teachers discretion when these can be used but definitely an incentive for the kids!
*The reward token with the star can be used for physical rewards such as giving them a free rubber or pencil if you wish.

Morning starters that allow the children to practice all 64 Year 2 common exception words using the pyramid spelling strategy. Can be used at the start of the day as a soft start when children enter the classroom.

Help promote a culture of kindness in your classroom using these pupil praise cards!
