I wanted to create a new library display that promotes a sense of adventure in reading. The adventure theme in Up! inspired this resource, as well as some amazing displays I seen on Instagram/Twitter. I drew the Up! inspired house myself as I wanted to incorporate reading into the drawing. This took a lot of time and effort, but was really worth it. I hope you enjoy this resource. A short and visual way for pupils to write a review about a book they have enjoyed and would recommend. Sometimes choosing a book can be difficult, especially when the library is filled with amazing choices. With these on display with recommendations from their classmates, a short summary of the story and key themes in the shape of hashtags, choosing a book is much simpler. Give pupils a visual example of what you expect from their jotter work. This sets a clear expectation when they complete tasks in their jotters. There is one for a literacy jotter and a numeracy squared jotter. Of course my priority when pupils return to school is their well-being, work will come second. Bring your book character to life using animation! Design and draw your own book character in the space. You can recreate your favourite book character or you can invent your own. Top tip: make sure the characters’ arms or legs do not overlap it’s body. Scan the QR code using the camera or visit sketch.metademolab.com and upload your drawing.
