This is the first lesson in an exciting Detective unit for Key Stage 3 - focusing specifically on Arthur Conan Doyle’s ‘The Speckled Band’. I created this unit specifically for last lockdown and my Year 7 pupils loved it! It can be delivered and adapted for live or independent online lessons - the lesson is a PowerPoint presentation, so very easy to deliver and to follow! Inspection season is upon us and it is time to have a bank of inspection-ready, outstanding lessons ready to go! This is an excellent stand-alone, week-long unit on La Belle Dame Sans Merci by John Keats. The unit consists of pre-learning vocabulary and picture tasks, followed by a thorough, differentiated analysis of the poem, and ends with a slow-writing scaffolded writing task.
