I am an English teacher who specialises in the teaching of English Language. I currently teach KS3, KS4 and KS5, though spend most of my time teaching KS5. This resource is aimed at mixed ability KS3 students, though could be used with low ability KS4 students who need extra help with their writing accuracy.

A series of 2 lessons that help students to analyse the characterisation of Miss Havisham through the writer's language choices. These lessons are designed for new AQA GCSE Language students working towards narrative writing for paper 1. The lessons are primarily focused on reading skills for section A. However, once students can see how a writer creates characterisation, they can then implement the techniques into their own creative writing for section B of the exam. Both lessons and relevant work sheets are included.
