KS1 Numeracy Support Mat

A handy two-sided support map for younger children which could act as a handy classroom prompt. The mat shows key concepts such as left and right, coins to £1, times tables 2 - 7, compass points (N,S, E, W), a 100 square and number line to 20, common 2D and 3D shapes, doubling and halving, and number names. I used to have a laminated copy for each child, which saved getting out lots of different resources for a quick warm up.

Addition and Subtraction Pirate Themed Treasure Hunt KS1

This treasure hunt deals with the KS1 maths objective: solve one-step problems that involve addition and subtraction, using concrete objects and pictorial representations, and missing number problems such as 7 = ? – 9. There are four clues in total, with each clue containing a maths challenge relating to an aspect of addition or subtraction. As the children work out each clue, they will generate letters which spell out a colour. The location of the next clue should be hidden in one of two envelopes marked with two different colours, one correct and one incorrect.
