Easter Hexaflexagon
End of term activity for Easter - hexaflexagon template and instructional powerpoint.
Advice:
Have a go yourself beforehand to make sure you’re confident telling the pupils what is the next step.
Print the powerpoint as an instruction booklet so pupils can work at different paces.
Extension: Print a blank version (type “Hexaflexgon blank” into google images) and get them to make their own.
Any feedback would be very appreciated.
Happy flexing!
Mathematics Timeline Display
Timeline detailing some important mathematical moments through history. Some have additional fun facts which can be printed alongside them.
Print 1 per A4 page and line them up against some border paper for a quick and large display!
Optional: I printed mine so it was colour-coded by location (I’ve included the location title pages to go with this).
Be A Problem Solver - Monthly Display
12 A3 posters with a monthly problem to solve (optional title at the end).
I printed one large one on A3 for a display, then printed extras 2n-up on A4 for students to take home if they wished.
(Disclaimer: I did not write these problems, they were compiled from problem solving worksheets and books (such as Can You Solve My Problems by Alex Bellos))
Growth Mindset Display (Maths)
Basic posters which can be printed in B&W onto coloured paper to match your classroom theme.
Inspired by this post by blossominginelementary
Display idea: print the ‘fixed’ quotes in B&W or pastel coloured papers and print the ‘growth’ quotes onto bright colours. Use a brain outline (like this one: https://www.pngitem.com/pimgs/m/93-937850_human-brain-drawing-line-brain-outline-transparent-background.png) in the middle and ask your students to colour in only one side.
