I got so bored by my teachers at school that I vowed to try and create engaging and fun lessons that are relevant to students, that provide up to date information, designed to ensure that people improve their skills as they progress but, more importantly, give many opportunities to make learning fun in a single lesson. I hope you enjoy the materials and please leave a review.

Industry Analysis - Preparing students for use of independent knowledge

Students always get into a pickle knowing what industries and companies they need to know in their examinations. I have created a user friendly template that students can use in their A2 revision and through their course to ensure that they can easily access and gain the most of real life examples in their studies. This can be set as a prep at the end of a unit, part of a sub unit or as guided and structured revision for those who find it tricky. The worksheets also aid analysis and encourage students to compare where necessary. Hope you find them useful and I will continue to add to these in the coming year.

Contingency Planning - How to be a best man or chief bridesmaid!

Contingency planning…we all do it. Normally for boring stuff, but if you are a Groom or Bridezilla, this is part of your DNA. This fun introduction to contingency planning follows the journey of a wedding day, the horrors that may happen and how you can prioritise the best man’s speech over a small issue like the weather. The resource is differentiated and includes group work, if you so choose and a range of delivery channels including snowballing, videos, prioritisation for higher end students and, during the whole process, they will be ready to look into real business and actually get it. Happy hunting.

We all love our coffee and the world can’t get enough of its petrol. To be fair, we are all fueled up and ready to go…but at what cost? This resource contains the Deep Water Horizon disaster as a case study to explore the impact of business on the environment, and the world of coffee, the world’s second highest traded commodity. With plenty of inbuilt examination practice, clips (click on the pictures) and development materials for a range of abilities, this pack will easily keep the imaginations going, the tempo high and the octane levels through the roof (well…as much as you can in a classroom!).

Using a mixture of examination practice questions, unique case studies, a range of helpful clips, class debates and other materials, this should liven up even the darkest hours of a topic students often find quite dry. The pack includes stretch material for the most able.

With focus on analysis and conclusions, students have a variety of activities that illustrate the main issues for Entrepreneurs based on their own personal circumstances. With suggested activities throughout, this is a comprehensive tool for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies.

Breaking bats are never good, but knowing your breakeven is! This resource sir designed to be used in two ways. Firstly, you could use it as a walking talking exercise with your group, especially if they have trouble with the concept. Secondly, it has enough scope to really stretch your group with variable changes. Use as you see fit! I have included pre-marked graph paper to help speed up your student's progress.

Ah the smell of pizza...but at what cost (apart from an expanding waistline!). This resource provides a step by step guide to the potential costs and revenues that exist in business. With resources that have been tailored to the case study, your students will not have seen the materials. There are activities which are cross-curricular using Venn Diagrams to help students identify that there are a range of costs depending on the type of business. As always, an examination master class embedded will help you push your students forward while supporting their development.
