This booklet is intended to be used as a work booklet to allow the students to complete the whole unit independently. It can also be used as a homework project. I’ve used this with the kerboodle ebook, but it can be easily used with other text books or as an web based activity. The booklet covers all the aspect of the specification. Thanks for thank the time to look at the resource.

The file contains 16 pages each with a common prefixe for a common science term (blue rectangle) and it’s meaning below (in purple rectangle). These can be paired up with the opposing term to highlight the differences. for example Exo and endo and hyper and hypo

The file contains 10 pages for the numbers 1-10. Common prefixes used in science and given in the teal rectangle and the prefixes for naming hydrocarbons are given in the purple hexagons. They work best when stuck above the board at the front of the class. The students I’ve used these with find them very useful for working out the number of atoms present in chemical compounds based on their name.

This is a display which will fill a large display board. It has the first 20 elements with their electron configuration shown. The groups are colour coordinated as are the periods (the boards have the same colours. They can also be printed 2 to a sheet and used as aids for lower ability groups.

The file contain the family names, exam of structural formula and the chemical name for the 5 hydrocarbon families needed for AQA GCSE chemistry. All the examples contain 2 carbons to show the commonality in the naming process. The back ground colours are specific to the group. The groups covered are, Alkanes, alkenes, alcohols, carboxylic acids and esters. Save yourself 30 mins of lining up element symbols and download today :-)

62 Questions based directly on the AQA specification for unit 4 of the chemistry/trilogy specification. The latter questions have boxes indicating if they are applicable to FT/HT Chemistry/Trilogy specifications How to use: 1 - Print out the pages from the AQA Chemistry specification for this unit 2- Print out the cards back-to-back. Each page has 16 questions (2 questions per card). The reverse of the card has the corresponding space to write the answer (with diagrams etc as required) on the reverse. 3- Students cut the cards out and use the specification to help them answer the questions. They then use these as flash cards and keep them together with an elastic band. Each set of cards has the unit code in the lower right-hand side of the card to allow each sorting of multiple units
