Examples of writing attached to use as modelling for children Did this plan for an NQT who found this so easy to follow and children were so engaged by all the different types of activities. Meets many different Literacy objectives covering fiction and non fiction. Planning includes: story mapping Letter writing Poetry Information leaflets Reading comprehension / character description and setting description (Meets many guided reading objectives here too!) A story writing using skills learnt throughout the unit. (A very different way to challenge children when writing stories) The NQT who used this plan got graded good with outstanding elements when teaching 2 of the lessons throughout this unit of work. They have now used again this year!

Year 1 topic. Lesson plans include word level/sentence level work with the story as well as supporting children to write instructions. Meeting writing targets - able to write a wide genre of writing, sequence ideas. Practical activities as well as written tasks. Part of a two week block on Gingerbread man. A 3 week literacy plan in detail for Year 5. Can be used for Year 4. Based on the book: Wolves on the Wall. Youtube video of story attached but would recommend to use the actual book. Fantastic book with illustrations that are very inspiring! rated outstanding on several observations on these lessons and lesson plan moderations. Assessment levels are previous levels (2a, 2b etc) but activities very focused to their levels rather than just HA, MA, LA. Very well differentiated. We did this as a 5 week project; one week was based around our topic of greek myths which worked well with the book as we created a greek myth based on wolves. The children then planned and wrote their own version of wolves on the wall.
