The students love this little module- I do it every year and it seems to work really well :)
Have uploaded in pdf format also in case you prefer.
These worksheet resources are aimed at low ability key stage 3 children. My group really love dragons and the excellent book Dragonology available from all good book stores!! you must have the book in order to do this work. Dragonology: The Complete Book of Dragons by Dugald Steer (Author), Helen Ward (Author), Douglas Carrel (Author), Dr. Ernest Drake (Editor), Wayne Anderson (Illustrator). Great for upper Primary students, low ability secondary students, and home schooled students. Enjoy!

WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER.
For NQT’s and anyone who wants to make their marking totally easy, focused, productive and user- friendly for both themselves and their students. Say goodbye to arduous pointless marking.
This resource contains 15 very detailed breakdowns of the requirements at each level for EACH of the individual assessment objectives for both paper 1 and paper 2 of the 2016 AQA GCSE English Language course.
These have been carefully designed so that you can just highlight students’ levels rather than laboriously annotate work thereby cutting down on both marking time, and stress.
The marking sheets can also be used for very productive self or peer assessment by students.
I have had excellent feedback from those who have used these resources thus far.

WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER.
If you have a lower ability group and you are trying to tackle Macbeth, and/or you need to (a) get through the play quickly (b) revise the whole play, then this resource is DEFINITELY for you! You will be able to teach your students the whole narrative and characters in just a few lessons without having to plow through the whole text (utterly pointless with many lower ability students).
This resource contains a study pack which will engage your students, and guide them all the way through the play in sections, which can allow you to avoid a full reading if necessary, and subsequently just work on key sections and exam skills ( I created this pack to get a reluctant boy- heavy lower ability group through- it worked and they even enjoyed it!).
This pack includes a minute by minute teacher guide to match up each section of the play with the film and an 'as you watch' pack with tasks for each section.
All you need to enable your students to understand the play is this pack. You will however need to purchase a copy of the Patrick Stewart production from 2011 (link below) which is available from Amazon. Excellent with lower ability but it IS very gory in places so is not suitable for younger viewers- year nine minimum (12 certificate).

This will be useful for: students to get through whole narrative quickly , learn key quotes and understand Scrooge's character. Designed for teachers very short on time. Great way for lower ability reluctant students to understand the text.
Totally self-contained work book to teach this novella- this work can be completed even if you don’t have the actual text and no other resources are needed.
Students work through a series of tasks which generates a GCSE essay which can then be typed up- great for teaching skills and revision. This is an ideal work book for weaker students at Key Stage 4, or for more able younger students. Also, fantastic if you are short on time.
Focus: How does Scrooge change throughout the novel?
Task One useful link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unKuZ2wlNdw I use the JIM CARREY film version to support this task: GREAT FILM TO USE AS MINUTES OF FILM LARGELY CORRESPOND WITH THE PAGE NUMBERS IN THE WORDSWORTH CLASSICS EDITION and this pack contains a guide to using the film with the book (including time and page references).

As we all know (as with all mark schemes) the AQA GCSE English Literature mark scheme is far from user friendly for students. This resource is a very detailed breakdown of the requirements for Band 6 on the poetry comparison question- it tells students exactly what they need to do for each of the six criteria using easily understandable language. It contains descriptors for the absolute top grade so that the students can easily get the sense of what an A* essay on poetry requires. Naturally this means the resource is aimed at middle to high ability students.
Personally I use a traffic light system with these grids (green/ amber/ red dots next to each statement) but you may just want to highlight and you can adjust these to your own school's marking policy easily.
Suitable for any assessed poetry work and will enable you to save a lot of time and stress as you won't need to write exhaustive comments and/ or can allow students to self assess. I have had excellent feedback on this so far and hope you find it as useful as I do.
Please do browse my other resources and contact me directly with any queries.
Happy marking :)
