This is a 20 lesson transition scheme for primary to secondary school English work. This scheme pretends that students have been shipwrecked on an island and need to complete a variety of activities/tasks to be saved. These activities include: writing descriptively, analysing language, listening, debating, letter writing and more. There are also two assessments that you can use. Towards the end of this FULL SCHEME there is a choice of whether you want to teach descriptive writing or language analysis or both (including a choice of assessments) approx. 20 lessons. An approx 35 lesson scheme that teaches students the key skills needed for AQA English Language Paper 1: list 4 things, language analysis, structure analysis, evaluation and creative writing. Lessons are created for approx 50 minutes long.
Included are:
an anthology containing classic gothic extracts such as Dracula and Jekyll and Hyde, as well as gothic poetry. It also contains non-fiction articles around the key ideas
2x cold tasks (pre-assessments/marked work)
2x hot tasks (actual assessments, 1 on creative writing, 1 in the style of AQA GCSE language paper 1)
4x feedback sheets that make marking easy and quick
poetry lessons, including comparison of poetry
support and challenge included in all lessons
